Blackouts in America

"The subject of deregulation with regard to energy markets seems to be past history for those presiding over the inexplicable power cut in the USA last week. All discussion is about what legislation or measures need to be taken to ensure it doesn't happen again. Yet they are still not sure what caused the problem, and there is no discussion of new inefficiencies due to the transfer of the industry into private hands or operation on a for-profit basis. Last week's events will probably `justify' a federal handout to the power companies."
